LSD Press Round-Up

It's time again for a little roundup of some of the nice things folks have been saying about LSD on the internet and beyond. Check it out—

ICYMI: Longman & Eagle was on "Check, Please!" You can watch the episode here.

Cherry Circle/Game/Drawing/Milk Rooms have a new Chef, Johnny Anderes! Chicago Tribune and Eater both shared the news. Next time you're at the hotel be sure to say hi!

The Infatuation did a great guide on the best soups in Chicago and include Lonesome Rose's killer new Chicken Tortilla Soup. Peep the guide here.

Eric Houser made Parson's very, very proud with his TV debut on Today in Nashville. He was making hot toddies and talking about Parson's Nashville's Holiday Pop-up that's happening Saturday 12/14. Watch the clip here. Speaking of that pop-up, Nashville Lifestyles published it on their site, here!

Our holiday pop-ups are happening in full swing now and the presses are hot! Lost Lake's Jingle Bell Square, Happy's, and Golden Teardrops all were included in guides from Eater, Condé Nast Traveller and WGN. Inside Hook also did a roundup of the best holiday themed hotels and included Happy's, that's here.

The Manual did a nice little feature on our favorite, little tiki bar Lost Lake. They said some really kind things and you can read those kind things here.

Parson's Nashville was included in Eater Nashville's hottest restaurants in Nashville map for the 5th month in a row! Read that one here.

The Reader did a great roundup of restaurants that are open on Christmas and serving up foods from around the world and they included Longman & Eagle's Chinese Christmas dinner. Check it out.

Anyone else shocked that it's suddenly November? Does the thought of cooking an entire turkey and hosting your extended family sound like too much to handle? Let your LSD fam host you this year. We've got options for whatever your celebration style is, and you know we won't judge you for undoing that top button.

PARSON'S THANKSGIVING - TO GO!

Parson’s Chicken and Fish's Chicago locations will offer the much-loved Thanksgiving takeout dinner again this year. Chef Hunter Moore’s Thanksgiving Dinner for Two, To Go is available for $55, which includes one whole fried Amish chicken, two homestyle biscuits, gravy, mashed potatoes, tomato & bacon braised green beans, and creamed corn (add-ons are also available, like salad, hush puppies, and extra mashed potatoes, which really shouldn't be optional).

Get your order in by noon on Wednesday, November 27 – your feast will be available for pick up (or delivery!) from 10am – 6pm on Thanksgiving Day.

Place your orders here.

CHERRY CIRCLE ROOM

This Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 28th, Cherry Circle Room will exclusively be serving a holiday prix-fixe menu. Guests will enjoy four courses of Thanksgiving classics in Cherry Circle Room's intimate dining room, available for $90 per person. (Before tax and gratuity.) We will also be serving seasonal cocktails and offering an optional wine pairing. Guests can look forward to turkey roulade with giblet gravy, cornbread stuffing, sweet potatoes with molasses and pecans, and much, much more.

Make your reservations here, and soon! There are only a handful of open tables left. (Cherry Circle Room can also accommodate large parties; email events@lsdatcaa.com to book.)

Working in the Loop on Thanksgiving, or just want to eat a fancy dinner from the comfort of your couch? The Cherry Circle Room Thanksgiving menu will also be available to go, for pick-up only. Email joey@lsdatcaa.com for more information and to place your order. Orders are due at noon on Tuesday, November 26.

And consider Chicago Athletic Association your Thanksgiving Day playground - you can head down to our Topgolf Swing Suite to work off your turkey coma or catch the big games in Game Room, where you can challenge Grandpa to a game of pool.

LONGMAN & EAGLE
Longman's annual family style Thanksgiving dinner is back! And like years past...it is sold out. But, don't despair! You can get their famous Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich in the OSB starting at 3pm on Thanksgiving Day, plus the full OSB menu of beer, cocktails, and wine. Come take a little holiday breather (or sipper) with us.

Ye Olde Destruction at HOV
YOD_CHICAGO_1200x1200.jpg

Come join us on Thursday November 7th as Um Yeah Arts,  Land and Sea Dept., and House of Vans present "Ye Olde Destruction" a film by Thomas Campbell, as well as a live score by Dan Bitney & Theo Katsaounis.

For the last 7 years Artist - Film maker Thomas Campbell has been making a self funded skateboarding movie, mainly shot on a 16mm film -- called - Ye Olde Destruction .... with a solid grip of shredders building and skating DIY spots, some street action, pools, and other stuff. The movie is really about capturing sessions and the movement of the life and happenings in these situations. Part of the theme and vehicle that propels the film is the driving of two old cars ( one 70's Cadillac and one black Ford Station wagon) two squads travel around in these cars skating, building spots, creating different skating scenarios, sometimes skating the cars and basically wilding out in said vehicles. In some ways the movie falls into the classic genera of the car movies movie motif ( Bullitt , Mad Maxx or Brown Bunny). The Film is presented in brutal but some how dream scape - ish editing style, with the jacked frenetic scribblings of world renowned Berlin based artist - zine maker Sergej Vutuc adding his iconic script to the mix. Campbell has enlisted an A list team of lensmen to help him capture the motion picture scenarios and shreddings - French Fred, Jon Miner, Mike Manzoori and Connor Wyse among others. The film also embodies and unveils the inter web of a community, a community of out laws non the less. but a community.

go HERE to RSVP for the event.

Asians Fry Chicken at Lost Lake

Lost Lake will be doing double duty this Halloween! From October 25 - 27 and Halloween itself, Lost Lake will feature a spooky menu of Halloween tiki cocktails. And from October 28 - 31...Asians Fry Chicken is back!

Reprising one of the year’s most popular Shift-Ease, Lost Lake Executive Chef Fred Noinaj is excited to welcome an exciting roster of chefs for another edition of AFC: Asians Fry Chicken! And, since it’s Halloween, the whole bar will be making the transformation to AFC. From October 28 - 31, Lost Lake will feature a new AFC menu daily, with 25% of proceeds of food sales benefiting KAN-WIN, a non-profit whose mission is to eradicate all forms of violence against women, including domestic violence and sexual assault, by empowering Asian American survivors and engaging the community through culturally competent services, community education and outreach, and advocacy.

Chef Fred conceived of Asians Fry Chicken as a chance to celebrate his heritage through the language fried chicken, a ubiquitous dish in many Asian countries: "As a child, it is not always apparent that being different is cool. Being the kid with the "weird" lunch who spoke an odd language made me ashamed of celebrating my ethnicity until I got older. Being able to bring friends together with similar upbringings to celebrate our cuisines is extremely empowering, especially because we are doing it for a good cause.”

Parson's Nashville—Now Open!
2019_08_01_ParsonsNashville_0601.jpg_small.JPG

We are very happy to announce that the third Parson's Chicken and Fish location is now open in Nashville, Tennessee! The Nashville Parson's brings everything we know and love about the two Chicago locations down to Music City; the patio, the grub, and—of course—plenty of Original Negroni Slushies.

The original Parson’s opened in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood in 2013, and a second location followed in 2018 in Lincoln Park. Since the opening, the bar and restaurant has racked up awards and accolades, including being named one of Chicago’s best new restaurants by Bon Appétit, and best Chicago restaurant for summer nights by Travel + Leisure. A favorite for locals and travelers alike, Parson's was founded as a testament to the idea that eating and drinking can be affordable, delicious, and fun.

We're excited to bring the same vibes down to Nashville. The build-out, which echoes the design of the two Chicago locations, was done by acclaimed Nashville-based architecture and interior design studio DAAD. The building is part of the May Hosiery Coop, an historic former sock mill located just a mile south of downtown Nashville.

The new space features a massive patio complete with our signature umbrellas and ping pong, an outdoor shipping container bar (the same that served Parson's Logan Square for all those hot patio summers!), covered outdoor patio seating, and an indoor dining room and bar with garage doors.

Parson's Nashville features all your favorites from Chicago, plus some new additions like a griddle burger, chicken nuggets (yes) and a selection of local, Nashville beers. Parson's Hot Sauce made the trip south, as did our collaboration with Revolution Brewing, Parson's Beer.

Come see us next time you're in Nashville!
