Parson’s End Of Summer Party
endofsummer-party-861x1024 (1).png

Summer is great.

But then it ends.

As many of you know, we are expanding Parson’s Chicken & Fish this year, making it bigger (more space to choogle!), with construction scheduled to begin in early October.

This means you’ve got until October 2nd to party on the patio, and we’ll be having one last outdoor blowout the weekend of September 30 and October 1.

Save the dates and get your patio fix until next spring! No tears allowed.

Eat BBQ, Help BBQ
parsons-franklin-861x1024REAL.png

Our friends at critically-acclaimed Franklin Barbecue in Austin suffered a fire in their smokehouse a couple weeks ago, putting them temporarily out of commission while they make repairs.

On Sunday, September 16, Parson’s Chicken and Fish will be hosting a barbecue to help support the Franklin team until they’re ready to re-open their doors. Chef Hunter Moore will be making a pulled-pork sandwich (featuring a special sauce recipe from the man himself, Chef Aaron Franklin), and we’ll have some Texas-centric beers and cocktails from bar manager Charlie Schott, too.  Proceeds from these special offerings will go directly to Franklin team.

Come out to support!

A Tribute to Takashi Murakami
PastedGraphic-1.png

Join us on Monday, June 19th at 5:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Chicago Athletic Association hotel as we pay homage to Takashi Murakami. We’ll be joining our friends from Cindy’s to celebrate the artist and his new exhibition at the MCA, The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg, right on top (literally!) of the custom installation from Murakami in the hotel’s Tank space.

The installation is inspired by one of Takashi Murakami’s original characters, in his signature “Superflat” concept which pairs traditional Japanese painting techniques with a contemporary, animé-inspired aesthetic within a flattened picture plane.

We’ll be serving a Japanese Highball from Paul McGee and a Tokyo-inspired snack from Chef Pete Coenen.

Register for complimentary entry HERE.

L&E x Elijah Craig Private Select Barrel Bourbon
2017-elijah-craig-fathers-day-980x980.png

L&E has something pretty neat in the works for the father figures in your life, right in time for Father’s Day.

Pre-order your dad a bottle of L&E x Elijah Craig Private Select Barrel Bourbon, and engrave it with a personalized message to commemorate the occasion.

This bottle of Elijah Craig — who, appropriately, is known as the Father of Bourbon — was hand selected by the Longman bar team on a visit to the Heaven Hill warehouse in Bardstown, Kentucky. The bourbon they chose has notes of cinnamon Red Hots…bringing to mind contraband candy gifted from dear old dad, perhaps? Or the spicy notes of his aftershave, the same scent he gave you along with your first razor. Or the sting of all the things you never said, but now have the chance to via a limited-edition bottle of quality booze from one of his favorite purveyors (and definitely his favorite child).

Pre-order your custom engraved bottle here, by Monday, June 12 and get an Elijah Craig shirt, hat, and shot glass to match. Then, come by Longman on June 14 from 5-8pm to pick up your perfectly patrician gift, and enjoy some complimentary bites, tastes, and L&E x Elijah Craig party vibes on us.

Esquire Names Milk Room and Lost Lake Among Best Bars in America
Screen-Shot-2017-05-25-at-9.07.58-PM-980x648.png

The 2017 edition of Esquire’s annual list of the “Best Bars in America” only features two bars in Chicago: Milk Room and Lost Lake.

It’s a testament to our phenomenal teams that these are the two bars that won the favor of Esquire editors through their exceptional service, serious attention to detail, and, of course, stellar cocktails.

Congratulations to Lost Lake owner and LSD beverage director Paul McGee, his partner and co-owner Shelby Allison, and the managers, bartenders, and staff that make Lost Lake and Milk Room such special spots.

Thanks to Esquire for including us — what good company! — and to all the guests who have enjoyed a cocktail (or three) in one of these bars over the last few years.
