Parson's Hot Chicken

Hot news out of Parson’s Chicken and Fish!

For the month of February, you can get Chef Hunter Moore’s Nashville-style hot chicken…in SANDWICH FORM!

After years of requests to offer the super popular hot chicken dish as a sandwich, Chef Hunter Moore will put the Parson’s Hot Sandwich on the menu for one month and one month only.

Topped with slaw, American cheese, aioli, North Star pickles, and plenty of Chef Hunter’s secret recipe hot sauce, this might be your only chance to eat this much-requested, never before available sandwich – so mark your calendars for February 1st. You don’t want to miss this.

Milk Room will be offering a very special Valentine’s Day experience on February 14 for those looking to celebrate with an elegant evening of rare and vintage spirits. Guests will be greeted with a glass of Charles Krug Brut Reserve Champagne and oysters with mignonette, and then get their choice of two cocktails from a special menu designed by Paul McGee only available for that night, including the Right Hand Cocktail (Plantation Reunion Island 15 Year Ruby Port Cask Finished Rum, Blackadder 17 Year Guadeloupe Rum, Dolin Rouge Sweet Vermouth, 1970s Campari, Chocolate) and the Saratoga (Pierre Ferrand Ebel Cognac, 1950s Stock Maraschino, Pineapple Gomme, Charles Krug “Brut Reserve” Champagne), among many others. Guests will also be treated to a charcuterie board to accompany their drinks, along with a nightcap of Valrhona Hot Chocolate with 1970’s Fernet Branca.  This experience is available for $150 per person (including gratuity) and can be booked via Tock.

Cherry Circle Room will be offering a menu of a la carte special items from executive chef Pete Coenen starting Saturday, February 11, and into Valentine’s Day proper, including sea scallops with rose and citrus ($17), roasted monkfish with coffee and carrots ($34), and, of course, dessert – chocolate mousse with cherry and almond ($12). Paul McGee will also be offering the Rose Petal cocktail (Gin, Raspberry, Lemon, Egg White) for $12 all weekend long.

Game Room is bringing Crew Love back for a second year for another night of partying with your buds. On Saturday, February 11, we’ll have a DJ bringing the tunes on the bocce court dance floor and Glitter Guts will have your group photo covered (sponsored by Fernet Branca). On the food and drinks side, Game Room will offer a brownie sundae that’s big enough to share (a giant sized brownie topped with six scoops of chocolate, peanut butter, and vanilla ice cream + chocolate sauce, peanuts and more for $20), Boozy Root Beer Float Shots (vanilla ice cream topped with root beer and fernet for $6), and a large format cocktail from Paul McGee to split with your table (Jamaican rum, California brandy, ruby port, Curacao, black tea, lemon – serves 4-6 for $45, also available in a single size for $12).

Longman & Eagle has got one for the lovers this year, with a five course dinner from chef de cuisine Joshua Mutchnick. This dinner is available in three seatings on February 14 (5:30, 7:30, and 9:30) and will also offer option whiskey and wine pairings. Email info@longmanandeagle.com to reserve your table.

And finally, Parson’s Chicken and Fish has all you single homies covered. Chef Hunter Moore will be serving up a triple cheeseburger with all the fixins (affectionately known as The Juicy Loser), and they’ll have the antidote to love song overload in the form of Bummer Karaoke, going in the pool house from 9p ’til midnight.

Parson's Food Drive

Parson’s Chicken and Fish is helping us keep that holiday spirit alive even after the New Year hits. Now through Valentine’s Day, Parson’s will be home to a donation bin for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. For every two cans of (non-expired, edible, good) food you bring in, you get a can of Modelo on the house.

In particular, they’re looking for peanut butter and a variety of canned items: Beans, chili, soup, stew, fruit, fish and vegetables.

You can even participate online without leaving your house! But…you should probably come have a beer at Parson’s. Just swing by the grocery on your way.

In the top 40 things to do in the city, Longman & Eagle, Parson’s Chicken and Fish, and Lost Lake all made the list, with Parson’s and Longman ranking in the top ten. Thanks, Airbnb! We like you, too.
