Happy's Holiday Pop Up Bar at CAA

In late December 2017, Chicago Athletic Association hotel, Johalla Projects, and Land and Sea Dept. collaborated on Happy’s—a holiday installment of the hotel’s “Mini-Bar”series in The Tank on the hotel’s ground floor (formerly the hotel’s pool). 

Following previous pop-up bar collaborations, The Backroom and Cherry Circle Yacht Club, Happy’s was an over-the-top celebration of holiday cheer and everything that comes with it—comfort, joy, and good old times.

The bar, designed by Chicago-based art gallery Johalla Projects and operated by Land and Sea Dept., featured a menu of festive cocktails by Land and Sea Dept. beverage director Paul McGee, as well as beer and wine.

The Chicago Athletic Association hotel and Land and Sea Dept. collaborated on programming to help guests enjoy Happy’s to the fullest extent of the season, featuring holiday tunes from Ryley Walker and Bill MacKay, a live performance of the score to A Charlie Brown Christmas, strange holiday movies presented with Odd Obsession, and more.
