Camp Wandawega x LSD Supper Club

We always enjoy working with our friends at Camp Wandawega, a creative, historic camp enclave located just outside of Elkhorn, Wisconsin – Chicago’s best suburb! – and we do so at every opportunity.

In the summer of 2015 we were approached by Joey Stevenson at the Chicago outpost of the esteemed Soho House club, with the thought of designing and producing a full-on recreation of a Wisconsin supper club in their Tavern space, in collaboration with the Wandawega crew.

Yes, obviously!

For one night only, we converted the Tavern into a shared interpretation of the iconic midwestern supper club – replete with brandy Old Fashioneds, breath mints, cheap beer and a piano, across two full dinner services.

Wandawega co-owner Tereasa Surratt worked on various art, design and visual asset components, which included ashtrays, matches, menus, mints, placemats and more.

In terms of drinks and food, we dug deep into the LSD roster, and nearly all of our principles were represented. On the beverage side, Paul McGee (Cherry Circle RoomLost Lake), Phil Olson (Longman & Eagle) and Charlie Schott (Parson’s Chicken & Fish) curated a selection of beers, cocktails and a milkshake. Chefs Jeremy Brutzkus (Longman & Eagle), Peter Coenen (Cherry Circle Room, et al), Hunter Moore (Parson’s Chicken & Fish) and Pickle & Chub (Jennifer Jackson & Justin Tootla, Thank You.) all came together to contribute dishes for the food menu, each presenting a course of classic supper club fare.

The two seatings sold out quickly, both of them so, so much fun – good times, Wandawega, always!
