Hudson Chair

The ‘Hudson’ chair was conceived of, designed and built by Land and Sea Dept. principal Jon Martin.

Drawing inspiration from various colorways used by artist, designer and LSD partner Cody Hudson in his fine art works, Martin set out to design a chair for use in the rooms at Longman & Eagle, pieces that needed to be attractive, durable, easily executable, and lightweight.

Martin met the brief easily, developing an attractive and comfortable seating option with an endlessly configurable array of colorway and material pairings.

For Longman, Martin used several varieties of wood finishes and types – hickory, oak, walnut, white oak – with colors inspired by Hudson’s paintings, giving each room its own distinct edition.
